To the work:
In a difficult phase of his life in 2008, Michael Zschille wrote the Funeral March, which, however, was to disappear into a drawer for the time being. Only in 2010 did the composer decide to publish the Funeral March.
With his work the composer wants to encourage and give strength. Slowly carried chords at the beginning become triplets in the middle part, only to return to the first part. In this way waves of feelings are reflected intensively and lead to deepest relaxation.
Help the mourners to find comfort in this relaxation by performing this work.
The present piano edition is of easy to medium difficulty, which makes the piece ideal for quick study and playing. An organ edition of the Funeral March is also available.
Michael Zschille on the funeral march:
"Music should encourage one and give one strength, especially in situations of pain
and of grief, whether it's because you are having to mourn the loss of a loved one,
or find yourself in a life crisis, a supposedly hopeless situation.
This piece is suitable for opening up one's inner self and finding solace in relaxation.
